Training Specialist
Contract to hire
Hybrid position, approximately 40-50% at Worksite
Can work in Wadsworth, OH -or- Fairmont, WV
The selected candidate may be offered a position within the same job family, at a level that is lower than what was posted. The Transmission Operations Specialist I in the Transmission Operations Training group is responsible for supporting the System Operator Initial Training program, the System Operator Continuing education program and other group priorities. Tools used to accomplish these tasks include, but not limited to, MS Access, Excel, Word, FirstEnergy s Learning Management System and a third-party Learning Management System (Quality Training Systems).
Responsibilities include:
Administering the System Operator training program in compliance with PJM/NERC standards
Maintaining training records for the Transmission System Operator training program.
Maintain training records in both PJMs and the Quality Training Systems (QTS) Learning Management Systems
Renew System Operators PJM/NERC certifications
Renew the NERC Continuing Education Provider status
Support the Transmission Training group in reporting, tracking and necessary documents.
Create and maintain the initial training schedule for the Associate Transmission System Operators
On boarding process
Ordering equipment
Coordinating department orientation
Coordinate initial training provided by third-party training vendors
Schedule classes around instructor availability
Assign training to students in Empower
Using Articulate and WellSaid to convert training presentations to SCORM 2004 Version 4 (zipped) format to load in the QTS LMS for future training.
Qualify and perform duties of an EEI System Operator / Power Dispatcher (SO/PD) test administrator
Producing a variety of correspondence, reports and presentations using the appropriate office equipment and software
Building relationships and credibility across organization
Demonstrating sound internal and / or external customer service
Ability to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines
Demonstrate a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results, and strengthen existing relationships
Ability to follow established practices, procedures, and instructions, and produce basic administrative work products in a thorough, timely and accurate manner

Recommending and implementing improvements to the training processes.
Representing the company at an annual QTS Workshop
Other assigned tasks as needed.
Qualifications at the Transmission Specialist I level include:
2 or 4 year degree in related discipline (Education, Business, Instructional Design) preferred
In lieu of a degree, three to five (3-5) years of relevant work experience with adult training and/or administrative background
Preferred experience in training program administration and support
Knowledge in NERC/PJM training requirements is preferred
Knowledge in the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) process is preferred
Ability to manage, organize and prioritize work, while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Willingness to travel and ability to work additional hours and/or modified schedules when necessary.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred experience in MS Access, SharePoint, and Adobe Articulate / Well Said software
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
